20.1.1 Types

There are two types of canities:
- Acquired canities: natural graying of hair due to age. Usually genetic.
- Congenital canities: occurs before birth where there is an absence of melanin in the hair resulting in white hair on the scalp, eyebrows and eyelashes (ex. albinos).
